This week begins at week begins a three week unit on the history, geography and culture of South America. Older classes will focus on the early life and career of liberator Simon Bolivar. The Dialectic class will take a break from history studies for the next three weeks as they study American elections and specifically the 2016 Presidential Election. The Rhetoric class learned knife skills this week, and practiced their whittling by carving wood creations such as canoes and pencils. The Dialectic class started working on their election project--a game showing the road to the White House. The Upper Grammar class made salt maps of South America. While the Lower Grammar class made beautiful South America vests. The Five in a Row class read the book, "Millions of Cats." They then did some amazing cat paintings and learned to walk like a cat!
