This week, our Tapestry kids read about what is known as the "Golden Age" of England's history (1558-1603). During this time, Queen Elizabeth I presided over an era of peace, stability, growth and culture. The Rhetoric kids learned more about the Elizabethan era, as well as developing instability and religious struggles beginning to be stirred up in neighboring Scotland. The Dialectic class made working catapults engineered out of popsicle sticks. The Upper and Lower Grammar classes made beautiful masquerade masks, like those used in the Elizabethan English theaters. The Five in a Row class read the beloved classic, "Corduroy." They then made a cute "Corduroy" out of paper plates and even went on a hunt for a yummy snack!
