Happy New Year! Co-op is back in session after a long winter's break. We are starting the new year by starting Unit 3 of Year 4 of Tapestry of Grace. And, this week, our history classes are studying India. The older classes are learning about India's independence from Britain. The younger kids focused their studies on the people, culture, geography and customs of the Indian people. The kids made some great crafts that showcase the culture of India. The Dialectic class painted rocks in the Mandala style, with black backgrounds and vivid colored dots. The Upper Grammar class made designs with beans and lentils, and the Upper Grammar class played and Indian game with pattern blocks. The Five in a Row class read the book, "A Pair of Red Clogs". It's the adorable story of the universal love of a new pair of shoes!
