Co-op in Review: March 28, 2013

This week was our second week studying the countries and cultures of Africa.  We focused our studies on the middle region of this vast continent and the government, religions and social customs of the African peoples.  The Dialectic class continued to work on their two Africa projects.  They added the countries of Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (which is neither Democratic or a Republic) to their prayer journals.  They also worked on assembling one of the panels on their Africa display boards.  Both the Upper and Lower Grammar classes worked on Africa mapping projects.  The Upper Grammar boys made texture maps showing the different countries that colonized Africa.  While the Lower Grammar kids worked together on a large-scale Africa map, and went on an African Safari.  The Five in a Row class read the book, "Lizards for Lunch".  It's the story, a proud, hungry roadrunner describes his life in the desert,  with a particular emphasis on finding his favorite yummy treat--lizards!  The kids then made cute little lizards out of wooden spoons!
