Co-op in Review: March 9, 2017

This week, our kids all learned about some of the technical advances of the post-Civil war time period, as well as learned about some of the amazing inventors and scientists who were responsible for those advances.  The Lower Grammar class learned about Louis Pasteur and his disease theories and they also learned about George Eastman and his advancements in photography.  They made awesome camera models, too!  The Upper Grammar class studied the lives and inventions of Alexander Graham Bell and Thomas Edison.  They then made tin can "telephones" and learned how to use them!  The Dialectic class made and painted models of railroad cars, as they studied the developments and implications of the transcontinental railroad this week.  And, the Rhetoric kids reviewed for their upcoming unit exam, while also learning more about the impressive German statesman and unifier, Otto von Bismark.  The Five in a Row class read the book, "Way Out in the Desert."  And, then they made adorable desert dioramas!
